Did you know that art majors have a capstone project that everyone can see? Their art will be displayed in Main Hall from December 3 to December 15, but the official opening is on December 8 at 6:30 p.m..

I spoke to my friend Avery Moffitt (’22) about her senior show. Avery is an art major with a concentration in photography. Her senior show is a gallery of fifteen portraits — she’s been working on it all semester.

I have an obsession with black and white imagery and a background in analog (film) photography. I wanted to see if it would be possible to make digital images have the same nostalgic and dreamy feeling that film images carry -Moffitt.

I think she achieved it! I’m lucky enough to have seen the photographs already and I can’t wait to see them in their printed and framed glory.

Avery posted the photo above on her Instagram, captioned, “This image is just a tiny glimpse into what my senior show series looks like. I’ve been working on this project all semester and can’t wait to see it all come together!”

Avery has thought of every single detail for her show — including the frames. She’s made several trips to Goodwill to find the perfect frames. She spray painted each frame to achieve her desired look. Talk about dedication! Avery’s show will be displayed in the hallway connecting the ballroom in Main Hall and the Performing Arts Center, so make sure you check it out!

Like Avery, so many senior art majors have spent many hours on perfecting their shows. There will be all kinds of different mediums on display. Come support your fellow Knights and admire the art that they’ve put so much time into!
