The Southern Virginia University baseball season is in full swing and things are already looking up. They started off the 2023 season with a double-header at Mid-Atlantic Christian University in Elizabeth City, North Carolina, winning both games by scores of 8–4 and 8–6. Starting off with these two wins, the Knights made it clear that they’re ready for their ’23 season.

Baseball is one of the few sports that has their home field off campus, as they practice and play at Parry McCluer High School. A new field has been in the talks for a while now, with the hopes of this idea becoming a reality in spring of ‘24. The field will be located behind the Knight Stadium Plaza.

Freshman outfielder Ty Martinez (’26) from South Weber, Utah, has high hopes for the future of this team. Martinez believes that the addition of 18 freshman can aid them in a future conference championship. He says, “I am excited for our future because of the potential we hold being such a young team.”
