The Herald: Craig Lund Interview

By Jacob Seawright

If you ever have problems with admission, make your way to the second floor where you will find the welcoming face of Craig Lund. Craig Lund was born and raised in Philadelphia and attended High school in Texas. Then he served a full-time mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Uruguay. Prior to his arrival here at SVU, he attended the University of Oklahoma where he studied business and played tight end on Oklahoma’s football team. While playing at Oklahoma, his team won back to back National Champions in 1974 and 1975. Craig Lund graduated from Oklahoma in 1976. The reason he wanted to come to SVU is because his oldest daughter came here in 1999 and his oldest son followed not too long after. He started working at SVU 20 years ago while coaching football in the first year of the program in 2003. His favorite part about SVU is the students, and the one thing he would change is being able to recruit more students. In his free time, he likes to go on walks with his wife and weightlifting. Some fun facts are that he likes to listen to classic rock, his favorite thing to read is “Sports Illustrated”, and his favorite Cookout shakes are strawberry, banana, and pineapple (not on the menu).
