Southern Virginia University Plans to Implement Out-of-State Tuition Policy Starting Fall 2023

By Anna Liu

Inflation is affecting everyone, and that includes our beloved university. To offer you the full education that you deserve, Southern Virginia University will begin charging out-of-state tuition to students who are not native to Virginia beginning fall of 2023.

A source that has asked to remain anonymous said, “It was the price of eggs that made us really realize that tuition prices just aren’t high enough. We need to be charging more. Paying seven dollars for a dozen eggs is the new normal, right? So now we need to raise tuition prices accordingly.”

If you’re a Virginia resident, there’s no need to fear! Your tuition will remain the same. Out-of-staters, you’re out of luck. Our source isn’t sure what the new tuition costs will be exactly, but they will be significantly more expensive and “scholarship funds will not increase to balance them out.”

You heard it here first, folks. Your education is about to cost a lot more.
